Short answer

This page is for someone who wants a cordless stick vacuum without paying Dyson prices. I compared 3, each for a different home. My pick is the Levoit LVAC-300: TechGearLab measured 57 minutes on low and it stands up on its own.

The fine print

Watch out for

The most common catch with each, from reviews and specs.

  • LVAC-300 Cordless Stick VacuumWeak on high-pile and shag rugs
  • Pet Cordless Vacuum (IY143H)Shortest run time: up to 40 min, measured at the hand vac
  • PowerClean FurFinder Cordless Stick Vacuum (4052)Only 13 min on turbo

Skip it if

Who each one is wrong for

Saves you a return.

  • LVAC-300 Cordless Stick VacuumYour home is mostly thick carpet or you have a heavy shedder.
  • Pet Cordless Vacuum (IY143H)You need more than 40 minutes per charge.
  • PowerClean FurFinder Cordless Stick Vacuum (4052)You clean a large home in one go.

The details

  1. What separates them

Run time and floor type. The Levoit runs longest and did best on hard floors in TechGearLab's test, but left pet hair on high-pile rugs. The Shark is built around pet hair with its self-cleaning brushroll and backs it with a 5-year warranty.

The Bissell is the small-space option. It is fine for a daily pass in an apartment, but 13 minutes on turbo will not cover a big house.

  2. What buyers complain about

Levoit: durability over a few years and long hair wrapping the brush. Bissell: the small bin and short turbo time. Shark: run time, since 40 minutes is measured at the hand vac, not with the floor head running.

  3. The real cost

Stick vacuum batteries wear out. A 2- to 5-year warranty matters more here than on most gadgets. The Shark's 5 years is the strongest, and when it is on sale it can be the cheapest of the 3.

So which is yours?

How I compared

  • Checked list prices, run time, weight, bin size and warranty on Levoit, SharkNinja and Bissell product pages on 2026-10-26.
  • Used TechGearLab's lab results for measured run time and pet hair pickup.
  • Did not test these vacuums myself.

Questions

Can a stick vacuum replace my upright?

In an apartment or a home with mostly hard floors, often yes. For wall-to-wall thick carpet, keep the upright.

Which is best for dog hair?

The Shark. Its brushroll is built to shed hair as it spins.

Is a stick vacuum a good holiday gift?

Yes for a new home or a pet owner. Ask first. Some people would rather not get cleaning gear.
